Taung Skull & Thomeng Waterfall

Declared a UNESCO site after a 1924 skull discovery, Taung’s scientific heritage and Thomeng Waterfalls drive tourism. The area also offers hiking, mountain biking, and picnicking for visitors.

Taung Dam

Built in 1993 for irrigation, the majestic Taung Dam offers scenic boat cruises, speed boating, and fishing competitions. It also has great potential for picnics and hiking on its huge yellowfish waters.

Kgosi Galeshewe Memorial Site

Kgosi Galeshewe is credited with the establishment of Galeshewe Township in Kimberly. A tomb of remembrance built (in his honour) in Magogong is one of the main attractions for tourists who are interested in heritage and history.

Mmabana Cultural Centre

The Mmabana Cultural Centre develops and showcases local arts and culture. Visitors can explore exhibits and works in pottery, quilting, beading, sewing, sculpture, dance, and music from the community.
