Chief Nyoko Motlhabane
Chief Nyoko Motlhabane leads the Batlhaping Ba-ga-Maidi tribe in Greater Taung. He is the eldest son of Mme Matlakala and the late Chief Walter Letsie Motlhabane who stepped in his fathers shoes when he passed on in 2005. Chief Motlhabane was born on the 12th November 1961 and was a school teacher and principal for 12 years. He also holds an LLB Degree from the University of the North West. Amongst the villages under his rule are Manthe, Tlapeng, Matsheng, Kokomeng, Khudutlou, Molelema, Morokweng, Mothanthanyaneng, Graspan, Dikhuting and Picong.


Chief Kgosiemang Isaac Mothibi (Posthumous)
Chief Kgosiemang Isaac Mothibi was born on the 5th of May 1937 in Greefdale a few kilometers outside Pampierstad. He now leads thousands of people in the Ga-Mothibi area which comprises Sekhing, Losasaneng, Kgomotso, Thota-ya-tau, Mammutla, Madipelesa and Ga-Taote amongst others. He took over from his father Chief James Seolamaje Galeshewe Mothibi in 1977.He is the grandson of Chief Galeshewe who is widely regarded as a freedom warrior.


Chief Tshepo Mankuroane
Chief Tshepo Mankuroane of the Batlhaping-boo-Phuduhucwana was inaugurated on the 19th of July 2004, the culmination of a long process by the people of Taung and the North West Provincial Government to determine who the legitimate chief of the tribe was. Chief Mankuroane the son of the late Chief Scotch and Mme Cwaro Mankuroane oversees more than 75 villages around Greater Taung. He was born on the 4th of May 1973 and holds a B.PROC =Law qualification from the University of the North West.
